Dear Chocolatier Confectioner,

Hi! I'm Star. I'm starcunning on AO3 and tumblr; I am barely on anything else.

I thought I would get an early start. I solemnly promise to stop tinkering once I get my assigment email, which should be right around when you get yours.
Letter is complete! There may be minor tweaks until signups close, but we're good to go.

Anyway, Chocolate Box was the first exchange I took part in, and the only one I've done more than once, so it's dear to my heart, and I'm grateful you'll be part of this new chapter with me. Please know this letter is meant to inform and inspire, not demand. If my prompts are helpful, great! If not, I'm sure your ideas will be delightful too. (I'm going to yap about Tsukihime a lot down below, not because I want to receive it more than other canons but because I think it needs more promo than the other canons. Please let your own enthusiasm be your guide.)

Please don't put too much stock into whose name comes first in the ship tag--even in my own nominations, I used the canonical tags wherever available, and will let you know if I have strong feelings about who does what to whom.

NSFW is okay! Treats are enabled and adored. I am happy to receive art treats even if I didn't request them in signups, but I am not interested in podfic treats. We'll do the general likes and dislikes first, and then: my (rare)pairs, let me show you them.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Ships Requested: Jeritza von Hrym/Female Byleth Eisner; Edelgard von Hresvelg/Female Byleth Eisner/Hubert von Vestra

FE3H is the sixteenth entry in the Fire Emblem series of tactical roleplaying games. Fire Emblem is known for its tactical battle system, and also for its "support" system of rapport and relationship between your PC unit and the NPC recruits. The first act of Three Houses takes place principally at the officers academy of Garreg Mach Monastery, and its second act follows a timeskip and varies based on which of the game's factions you've chosen to ally your PC with.
Unfortunately for all the other leaders, I played Black Eagles first and still love it best.
I have played Three Houses, including the Ashen Wolves DLC, but have not played Three Hopes or any other side material.

Fandom Specific DNW: Male Byleth. I only want female Byleth for these requests, please! ETA: The gendered Byleth tags have been added for my requests, my signup has been revised; my requests are specifically for female Byleth.

Jeritza/F!Byleth
If you put a big, blond, living weapon character in front of me, they're going to become my favorite. This is a pattern I have recognized in myself and one in which I will happily indulge. Jeritza is incredibly into the idea that Byleth could kill him--and possibly she is the only one who could kill him, whether or not that's really true. I love the idea of two people that could (and under other circumstances would, or even should) destroy one another, and them refusing to do so.
Prompts )

Edelgard/F!Byleth/Hubert
If you set your fic during Act 1 of the game, Edelgard is underage. Feel free to not mention it, age her up, or set it later for your own comfort.
Power throuple supreme! Edelgard and her left and right hands completely rebuilding Fodlan. I think that in public they're extremely stiff and proper, and even if there are rumors that the Emperor is involved with one or the other of them, it's met with skepticism.

Inquisition Series - Dan Abnett (in the tagset as "Eisenhorn Series")
Ships Requested: Harlon Nayl/Kara Swole; Patience Kys/Gideon Ravenor; Patience Kys/Kara Swole

I wrote a promo post for this, explicitly in the hope of luring eyes from the main 40K tag.

The Eisenhorn series (probably more commonly called the Inquisition series outside of AO3) is a Warhammer 40,000 tie-in book series by Dan Abnett. Structured more or less as a trilogy of trilogies, there are currently eight novels, one novella, and a fistful of short stories and audiodramas. Each trilogy follows a different protagonist and their ensemble cast, though old faces have a habit of turning up again and again. If you are a new 40K fan or principally read in the Heresy era, it's an extremely strong introduction to "modern" 40K.

I love these books more for the ensemble casts than the plot, although there are certainly interesting mysteries and a lot of fun action. These people have decades and occasionally centuries of history with one another, and have faced unimaginable things together and have--if not exactly triumphed, certainly survived.

I'm current on the canon, including all the shorts, Advent Calendar drabbles, and what-have-you.

Harlon/Kara
I'm here to put right what Dan Abnett tore asunder. These two were a canon couple in the Eisenhorn era that got broken up for the Ravenor era to do a bunch of unnecessary love triangle nonsense. I like them together and they clearly still have warm feelings for one another in canon, so.
Prompts )

Patience/Gideon
Gideon Ravenor is my chewtoy, and for me there is no one for him like Patience Kys. You may be saying, "doesn't he spend 99% of his screentime in a box?" and you'd be right, but what I have always known and what Dan Abnett eventually figured out in Penitent is that this is no impediment. I have written most of the fics for this ship and would love to see your take on it. They get a few cute moments in canon, like the one where he realizes she's been reading his books in secret and is too embarrassed to say so, and he is too embarrassed to admit to her that he's extremely flattered by this. He is world-weary and more than a little jaded by the time of his trilogy, so the idea her affections can make him blush tickles me to no end.
Prompts )

Patience/Kara
They're friends. They should be friends more, and maybe hook up about it. There's definitely a time in canon where Patience is extremely wary of men early in her canon appearance, and I've definitely written stuff where Kara has a friendly concern for Patience's sexual health after trauma and difficulty. This is kind of an extension of that.

Tsukihime
Ships Requested: Inui Arihiko/Tohno Shiki; Inui Arihiko/Hisui; Inui Arihiko/Tohno Shiki/Hisui; Tohno Akiha/Tohno Shiki

I wrote a promo post here. Since this is my journal, I can freely link you the web-playable version of the VN.

Tsukihime promo and recap )

Please play Tsukihime. I got into it because a friend was insane about it and would occasionally talk about it and I wanted to understand. Now I am the insane one who wants more people to talk to about it. The list of content warnings is ... extensive (mild spoilers at link), so prepare yourself as necessary.

I played the web version of the game using the mirror moon fan translation linked above. I have completed all routes, with the epilogue, and have read most of the bonus content included on the fan disk. I have started but not finished the manga, and have read some bits of Kagetsu Tohya out of context (thanks to my insane friend). I've watched all of the Carnival Phantasm skits about Tsukihime characters. I have played a little Melty Blood (Actress Again Current Code) but am not broadly familiar with Melty Blood stories.
I have not played the 2021 remake, including Ciel's new route, and do not expect this to change before reveals.

I like Arcueid a lot, but most of my interest in Tsukihime is in the Far Side routes and dynamics. The feats are cool, the fight scenes are stylish, the vampire lore is intricate, but everyone in the Tohno mansion is a grade-a weirdo and I want to study all of them.

Fandom-specific DNW: Remake-only characters or plot elements. As I mentioned, I haven't played it, and understand that some changes are substantial.

Arihiko/Shiki

This ship is canonically underage; both characters are seventeen. Feel free to not mention it, age them up, or set it slightly later for your own comfort.
Shiki and Arihiko have been friends since middle school--a feat, considering how few other school friends Shiki has to speak of. Arihiko is probably the most normal person in this entire VN, and a steady and selfless presence in Shiki's life that contrasts with the psychological torments that the plot throws at him. The little hints and glimpses we get in canon of the history of their friendship show that these two are actually good caretakers of one another, and when even the game itself jokes about the assumption they're a couple, it seems natural to want to see them together.
Prompts )

Arihiko/Hisui
This ship is canonically underage; both characters are seventeen. Feel free to not mention it, age them up, or set it slightly later for your own comfort.
They never even meet in canon, but they should! Arihiko and Hisui are maybe the only two really good people in the VN--everyone else at one time or another puts their needs and wants for and from Shiki ahead of his well-being, and Shiki is far from an innocent. Hisui has a great deal of guilt over what Kohaku went through to spare her, and a powerful distrust of men that makes it difficult to even go outside. Arihiko looks like a reckless playboy at first, but his concern for Shiki's health and a few hints toward what he gets up to when he's not at school reveal a conscientious and kind young man. Hisui deserves to be treated right, and Arihiko's the guy that can do that.
Prompts )

Arihiko/Shiki/Hisui
This ship is canonically underage; all three characters are seventeen. Feel free to not mention it, age them up, or set it slightly later for your own comfort.
Two great tastes that taste great together, basically.
Prompts )

Shiki/Akiha
This ship is canonically underage; Shiki is seventeen and Akiha is sixteen. Feel free to not mention it, age them up, or set it later for your own comfort. They are also adoptive siblings, and depending on when it's set relative to canon, Shiki may think they are blood relations. If you are uncomfortable with this relationship, please write for another ship; I don't want any changes to their canonical family status.
I think that Akiha has been in love with Shiki since she was six years old. I also think that she feels a profound amount of guilt about the "accident" (and about everything that happened to Kohaku that she didn't notice) and a great deal of bitterness and anger about being functionally alone in that house with her father for eight years. She is angry with Shiki for rejecting her attempts to reach out to him, regardless of the validity of his reasons for not replying. But she's afraid to show any of this to the brother she just got back, because if he leaves again she thinks that it'll be for good. So she'll lean on any tie she has to him--including and especially that familial one--to make sure he stays, even when this is cruel of her. I think that maybe, in another world, this could have been beautiful, and in the world of canon, it ain't that, but damned if it ain't compelling.
Prompts )

I think that about does it. Thank you for taking a look at my letter. I hope it was helpful to you, and that you have a wonderful time with the exchange.

It's actually happening. After a couple of years of false starts, I'm actually gonna do Yuletide this year. I hope you share my excitement, and are forgiving with any mistakes I might make in this letter.
Anyway, hi! I am also starcunning on AO3. I'm starting this early but will probably tinker with it basically until signups close and I finalize my requests (e: we're done! I'm locked!). Please know that my ideas are meant to inspire and never to constrict. If my prompts are helpful, great. If not, I'm sure I'll be delighted by your ideas.
I realize that Yuletide is not a pairing-focused exchange, but I have the heart of a shipper, and I don't mind a little smut. I am open to treats, including art treats/Wrapping Paper challenge fills! Some prompts are called out for their appropriate mini-challenges, but I also collected my comments in those challenges below.

Here are the general likes and dislikes.

DNW:
  • Generative AI, whether text or art. As I understand it, it's against Yuletide guidelines anyway.
  • M/M as a main focus, except where specifically requested.
  • Rape. I'm pretty lenient about dubcon, but don't want persistence/wearing down resistance style dubcon. In the cases of supernatural influence, characters should end up enjoying themselves and not resent/regret the experience afterwards.
  • Second-person POV or 'x Reader' style interpretations.
  • Sexuality/gender angst; homophobia; etc. Characters should be at peace with their identities and any conflict or strife should not be on the basis of these things. I'll be more lenient about period-typical bigotry but definitely don't want it from the 'good guys' or any romantic interests, and queer characters should generally like themselves despite others' attitudes.
  • Jealousy or infidelity as a major part of the emotional landscape.
  • NSFW with characters under 16 years of age. If they are underage/teens, don't overemphasize their age.
  • A/B/O dynamics.
  • Unrequested setting swaps.
  • No watersports/scat; menses; vomit; etc.
  • Feederism.
  • Somnophilia.

Likes:
  • Canon-compliant fic and canon-divergent AUs.
  • Interiority (lots of focus on a character's thoughts and emotional landscape).
  • Explorations of complicated relationships and the ways they can grow and change over time.
  • Characters torn between love and duty.
  • Characters with a strong sense of loyalty.
  • Reincarnation romance.
  • Finding comfort in adversity.
  • Angst (but with hope).
  • Intertextuality.
  • Trans and nonbinary characters, even in historical settings.
Smut likes:
  • F/F
  • M/F
  • M/F/M
  • Vanilla sex (100% okay! please don't feel you absolutely have to cater to the kinks I list here!)
  • Femdom
  • Dirty talk
  • Orgasm denial / edging / ruined orgasm
  • Rope bondage
  • Impact play (spanking, flogging, caning)
  • Blindfolds
  • Praise kink
  • Semi-public sex (the thrill of maybe getting caught is especially crucial)
  • Clothed/semi-clothed sex
  • Guided masturbation
  • Upending the assumed power dynamics of a given sex act. It's not inherently submissive to suck a cock, for example!

Art likes:
  • Whatever you've got to offer!
  • Nonstandard mediums! If you somehow crochet a Tsukihime-themed doily, I'm going to be floored.
  • In the cases I've written fic for requested fandoms (I think just the Abnett series), you are welcome to draw a moment from my fic, if you feel so moved.

Mini-Challenge Comments:
There are definitely prompts in these that aren't replicated in my letter below, so if you have a particular theme in mind, perhaps there'll be a plotbunny there for you?
Okay! I think that covers the basics. Let's talk about the fandoms I've requested.

Tsukihime
Characters Requested: All (Arcueid Brunestud, Hisui, Inui Arihiko, Kohaku, Original Tohno SHIKI, Tohno Akiha, Tohno Shiki, Yumizuka Satsuki)

Tsukihime is a visual novel by TYPE-MOON (writer Nasu Kinoko and artist Takeuchi Takashi), who would go on to become much better known for the Fate series, which nominally takes place in the same continuity. It has a couple of related properties--dubiously canonical sequel VN Kagetsu Tohya, and the fighting game Melty Blood, which has had several versions and enjoys grassroots popularity in the fighting game community. In 2021, the first two routes received a remake, and their first official English translation. The remaining routes are due to be released in the other half of the remake at some unspecified point in the future. It also has an anime adaptation that everyone likes to pretend doesn't exist, and a manga adaptation that synthesizes various routes together to try to create one cohesive narrative.

Our protagonist and narrator, Tohno Shiki, is a seventeen year old student who was in a near-fatal accident eight years prior. It left him in fragile health, so he was sent away to live with a cadet branch of the family, and his younger sister Akiha was chosen as heir to the family legacy instead. When the game begins (October 20th, 1999), the father who sent him away has passed, Akiha has become the head of the family, and Shiki has been recalled to the Tohno family home. Meanwhile, in town, a series of mysterious killings has been described by the news as the work of a "modern day vampire," but of course such things don't really exist, do they?

Realizing that Tsukihime had exactly two Shiki/Arihiko fics was my actual motivation to finally get it together and do Yuletide this year, and get myself in order in time for nominations--it was my timely reminder for just how dire it can be to try and read fic in a rare fandom! I coordinated all the nominations and will probably hit "all characters" but please do not think that you have to write one fic that has all the characters in it.

I played the mirror-moon web version of Tsukihime (2000). (Actually, at time of writing, I am on day 11 of Hisui's route and will be starting Kohaku's route on October 20th so I can play it in 'real time.') I will have finished the game and its epilogue by Christmas, and probably finished the manga, too. I have read sections of Kagetsu Tohya out of context, but playing it is on my to-do. I have not played the 2021 remake and am not familiar with with Tsukire-only characters or Ciel's new route--there's a reason she's not in the tagset. I have also not finished any Melty Blood stories. I have watched basically all the Carnival Phantasm skits, because my priorities are clearly well in order.

I'll be lenient with the 'rape' DNW here--I know it's prominent in backstory and, frankly, in canon. I still DNW it as a main focus and don't want it in ships I'm meant to root for! But it's a horror element in a few routes in the game, and I'm okay with Tsukihime fic leaning pretty dark in tone despite the fluffy-ass prompts I'm about to put out here. Crueltide fills welcome! On the other hand, a comedic take a la Carnival Phantasm or a slice-of-life story is also fine!
  • My preferred ships are ... a mess. Shiki goes with almost everyone. So: Shiki/Ahika, Shiki/Arihiko, Shiki/Arcueid, Shiki/Hisui; Shiki/Satsuki; Arihiko/Hisui; I'm now intrigued by the possibility of Shiki/Arihiko/Hisui.
  • Season's Treatings: Christmas in Japan is mostly a couples' holiday, so please feel free to give any shippy stuff a seasonal flavor.
  • Christmas is also Arcueid's (self-selected! maybe first?) birthday! I would love a fluffy Arcueid birthday fic.
  • Make the Yuletide Gay: So, as I mentioned, there's a dearth of Shiki/Arihiko fics, which is crazy to me given how much the game itself makes a meal of their relationship sometimes. I'm thinking friends-to-lovers, a monogamous dyad. Given how in tune Arihiko is to Shiki's "anemia," and Shiki's sidebar about being the designated sober caretaker when Arihiko drinks, caretaking is an obvious theme. I just like them and am shocked there's so little for them!
  • Family Matters/Family Affair (Shiki/Ahika; not the twins): The end of the year is also when the Tohno household (Shiki, Akiha, Hisui, and Kohaku) were planning to go on vacation.
  • btw Arihiko/Hisui is my crackship. Apparently he's actually very sweet and nice, on good terms with his exes, and spends his free time doing sightseeing tours with senior citizens. I just want him to gently take her to a museum or something. :') She never goes outside, so she would need a lot of support, and I want to see her get it!
  • Isn't it sad, Sacchin? Isn't it sad that your route never got released?
  • postcanon reunions for true ending Arcueid or Akiha routes with Shiki please. I love dying and being dead, but I also love being. happy
  • "Original Tohno Shiki," or Capslock-kun, as he is affectionately known, is in the tagset for Tohno angst purposes (and Crueltide bait?)!

Time of Iron Series - Sarah Rees Brennan

Characters Requested: Rae/Rahela, Key, Worldbuilding

Time of Iron
is an ongoing book series by Sarah Rees Brennan. The first book, Long Live Evil, was released in 2024. It was SRB's debut adult novel, and her return to publishing after a long period of illness. The second book, All Hail Chaos, is due out April 2026. A third entry is under contract.

Our main character, Rae, has been fighting cancer since high school. When she was sick, her sister Alice often read to her from her favorite fantasy-series-turned-cultural-juggernaut. Now, suddenly, Rae has been transported into the novels as Rahela Domitia, the Beauty Dipped in Blood--who doesn't even make it to the end of the first book. Determined to not just survive, but return home and get well, Rae rallies the other villains of the setting around her to change the narrative. Now if only she'd been actually paying better attention when her sister read her those early entries ...

I don't know. It's a really fun and indulgent book and I just like to swan around in it! I've read Long Live Evil, and my edition included the bonus short "Letters to My Lady from the Abyss."
  • I do ship Rae/Key!
  • Yulebuilding: I want someone to write fanfiction for the Time of Iron franchise as it exists in canon.
  • Hell, I want someone to write a long reddit/BBS/whatever argument about the Time of Iron franchise the way people would effortpost about ASOIAF/Game of Thrones in its heyday. What's the canon's equivalent of R+L=J or whatever? I need to know.
  • Yuleporn?: Okay, but Rae got sick before she got serious with her boyfriend in the real world, right? So everyone thinks Rahela's this femme fatale, but she and Key get down to business and she's actually an awkward virgin.

Eisenhorn Series - Dan Abnett
Characters Requested: Gideon Ravenor, Patience Kys, Wystan Frauka, Eleena Koi

The Eisenhorn series (probably more commonly called the Inquisition series outside of AO3) is a Warhammer 40,000 tie-in book series by Dan Abnett. Structured more or less as a trilogy of trilogies, there are currently eight novels, one novella, and a fistful of short stories and audiodramas.

The first three books (the "Eisenhorn trilogy:" Xenos, Malleus, and Hereticus) follow the career of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn, tasked with hunting down threats to the Imperium of Man. Aided by the colorful characters of his retinue, his centuries of service take him across the sector and into the darkest corridors of the Halo Stars.

The second set of three books (the "Ravenor trilogy:" Ravenor, Ravenor Returned, and Ravenor Rogue) follow Gideon Ravenor--once Eisenhorn's star pupil, a terrible accident left his physical body entombed in the hermetic tomb of his life support apparatus, but could not stop his ascension to Inquisitor. Many members of his retinue are familiar from the Eisenhorn era, but he relies on them in ways Gregor never did.

The third set of books (the "Bequin trilogy:" PariahPenitent, and Pandaemonium) are an ongoing concern, with Pandaemonium set to release someday, if we all behave. Beta Bequin is a young woman who is in training to serve the Inquisition, and a person of great interest to both Eisenhorn and Ravenor, who are now set at odds about what to do with her, the people who trained her, each other, and basically everything they once agreed on. Lots of other old friends make new appearances, and Alizabeth has allies of her own.

The novella, The Magos, was released after Pariah but bridges the gap between the end of the Ravenor books, the decades-long fallow period that followed their denouement, and the inciting incident that brings our old friends out to investigate the events on Sancour that comprise the Bequin books.

I'm current on the canon, including all the shorts, Advent Calendar drabbles, and what-have-you. My requests are principally for Ravenor characters because that era has my favorite ensemble, but don't feel restricted at all to the period of time that the Ravenor books cover! Casefic is great, but I also love thinking about them in their downtime.

I have one DNW for this fandom: I do not want fic that specifically focuses on Gideon's romantic relationship with Arianrhod esw Swedyr. It's fine to mention it or even ruminate on it as a past event, or as a background element in fic set when she's alive, but I just don't want it to be the main feature.

As 40K is the originator of Grimdark, Crueltide pairs well with this fandom!
  • My preferred ship is Gideon/Patience; I also nominated Wystan/Eleena for shipbait.
  • Gideon Ravenor is my chew toy. I often think of him, and of what the hell he did all that time he was mothballed.
  • Gideon/Patience is my little canoe; it used to be that I knew everyone aboard personally, or near enough, but a second writer finally appeared. Huzzah. I think I have three fics on my page and a few more little drabbles that never made it over from tumblr (I'm starcunning there, too). This tag may be the best way to find them, though it has other things, too.
  • Hey, what do you think happens if and when Patience finds out that Gideon didn't definitely know her sisters were dead? Could be a Family Matters fill if she goes looking.
  • I'd also love anything about Patience and Kara's friendship.
  • Wystan Frauka is my other chew-toy. The narrative has little time and less regard for him, but I'd love to know how he got picked up, why he is the way he is, anything, really.
  • Yule Be First: Eleena Koi does not currently have a canonical tag. She takes over the Distaff after Bequin, and Wys was particularly upset about her loss at Majeskus. Blanks probably can't feel other Blanks, so it makes sense they'd be close. I also wrote a short thing about them ...
  • Anyway, what do you do when you were an Untouchable for so long and now you're not? Now that doing the job has burned the one and only useful thing about you right out of your being? What becomes of Wystan Frauka after the Novena?
  • And a Partridge in a Pear Tree: I also have a huge soft spot for Kara/Harlon. Treats only on these two--they didn't fit in my signup!

Hi!
Deciding to sign up for TOT was a bit of a last-minute decision, so apologies if this letter is brief--I want to give you some info or context by the time assignments go out. Let's dig in, shall we?

DNW:
  • Generative AI. I would literally rather you default.
  • Generally speaking, M/M as a main focus
  • Violent, explicit rape. Dubcon is more acceptable in tricks than treats, and with a supernatural explanation for any premise. There's one edge case--Bluebeard--which I'll talk about below.
  • Jealousy or infidelity as a major part of the emotional landscape
  • Underage NSFW
  • A/B/O dynamics
  • 'Modern' settings for not explicitly modern prompts
  • Most bodily fluids (no watersports/scat; menses; vomit; etc)
Treat-Specific DNW:
  • Hatesex
  • 'Mundane' dubcon--mostly persistence/wearing down resistance. In the cases of supernatural influence, characters should end up enjoying themselves and not resent/regret the experience afterwards.
Likes:
  • Canon-compliant fic and canon-divergent AUs
  • Interiority (lots of focus on a character's thoughts and emotional landscape)
  • Explorations of complicated relationships and the ways they can grow and change over time
  • Found and chosen family
  • Characters torn between love and duty
  • Characters with a strong sense of loyalty
  • Reincarnation romance
  • Finding comfort in adversity
  • Angst (but with hope)
  • Intertextuality (reference some poetry or classical work and i'm THERE, babey!)
  • Trans and nonbinary characters, even in historical settings
Smut likes:

  • M/F/M
  • Vanilla sex (100% okay! please don't feel you absolutely have to cater to the kinks I list here!)

  • Dirty talk
  • Orgasm denial / edging / ruined orgasm
  • Rope bondage
  • Impact play (spanking, flogging, caning)
  • Blindfolds
  • Praise kink
  • Semi-public sex (the thrill of maybe getting caught is especially crucial)
  • Clothed/semi-clothed sex

Art likes:
  • Whatever you've got to offer!
  • I am happy to receive art treats even for fandoms/prompts I did not request art of!
On to the fandom breakdowns! I will have thoughts. If you have your own thoughts on interpretation of these prompts, please do not feel beholden to my ideas.

Bluebeard:

As I mentioned in my signup, I got a Bluebeard-themed fill a couple years ago in an exchange and was absolutely thrilled to death by it. If you can spare the time, go take a look. It was technically for the TTRPG Bluebeard's Bride, which has its own questions it likes to ask about what happens after the end of play, like:

  • What were the Bride’s last loving words to Bluebeard before he killed her?
  • How does the Bride punish future brides for transgressions against Bluebeard?
  • What memory of Bluebeard’s house gives the Bride pleasure when it shouldn’t?
  • What is the only thing the Bride can feel?
I always liked the idea of Bluebeard as a sort of inescapable force--that even if his wife were to escape, she would not be believed. After being Bluebeard's wife, one can be nothing else.

This is about the only premise for which I would accept anything like 'overcoming resistance' dub/noncon, though I would prefer to lean in the direction of wanting things one shouldn't and being seduced by the allure of the forbidden. It's also the premise I'm most stringent about not wanting a modern setting for.

Warhammer 40k:

Gideon Ravenor is, unfortunately, my favorite chew toy. I'd love shipfic; I am powerless to request shipfic outright. When Yuletide arrives, I will be requesting Ravenor/Patience fic there (and maybe some other Ravenor-centric fic too). May we meet again there to write about powerful psykers and the interesting things one can do in ware. (And Blanks. Wystan Frauka is my other chew toy.)

I requested him as a solo character, but he obviously doesn't have to be alone in the story. If Arianrhod is there, it's fine to have some shippy content, but I would prefer it not be the main focus. I really do spend a lot of time thinking about what he got up to when he was furloughed after the novena, and what he told the rest of the team.

I also wasn't kidding about the college AU. It's like my one exception to that 'no modern AUs' DNW. I think he'd teach philosophy.

Original Work:

I didn't nom any of these prompts because, as mentioned, this was a last-minute decision. I tried to break them up in terms of how light or dark I wanted people to go with it. Originally I had three separate requests, but fandoms have to be unique, so please try to be understanding of my preferences if we matched in a way you didn't anticipate.

Most of these settings skew historical or fantasy, to my mind. I like my vampires in crumbling castles, you know? Goth girls and new vampires do point toward a more contemporary setting, but I want my nuns to be living pre-electricity or in a fantasy type setting. Kings and princes should probably be in a fantasy setting too!

The hentai game isekai got filed under 'treats only' because I explicitly do not want this monster encounter to be entirely nonconsensual and I don't want her to die of it. Sex pollen and general hentai logic is okay here! I would prefer either more humanoid monsters (succubi, minotaurs, your standard D&D races, etc) or tentacles/slimes/whatever versus a more 'feral beasts' type of thing. It CAN be a group sex thing, but it doesn't have to be, and I'm totally fine with a more comedic take on the whole scenario!

The supernaturally-obsessed noble and the grifter smacks of Victorian spirituality to me, but a fantasy take would be fine too. I think the obvious thing to do with it would be for them to succeed in summoning a demon or calling a ghost or whatever against all odds, but it's not remotely the only possibility! What is the noble after? Is he trying to contact someone who's passed on? Does he want to make a Faustian bargain? Is he looking for a supernatural edge, and if so, in what?

The cyberpunk model can be of any gender, and again does not have to be the only character in the story. I have no strong thoughts about what I want that story to do, but I do keep thinking about that old tumblr post joking about how the two genders in cyberpunk are 'kpop idol' or 'tank.' Maybe they find solace with this group of people that looks very different from them, but did something kind of similar for reasons they understand?

I think that about covers it! I hope this was helpful to you. Thank you for spending time during the best season of the year to make something for me!
 Hello, Chocolatier!

This is not my first rodeo, but it is my second, and one seems like an awful low number of rodeos to have it all figured out by the end of. Obviously I have a lot of ideas, but please feel free to use them as a guide and not a stricture! If an idea really grabs you but it's not discussed here, go with it! My only request is to please honor my DNWs; I'm sure I'll be delighted by whatever you offer. I am okay with art treats even for fandoms I didn't request art of!
Shall we begin?

DNW:
  • Generally speaking, M/M as a main focus (with obvious exceptions where I've requested an M/M pairing specifically)
  • Rape or dubcon (with one fandom as exception, noted under the Bluebeard's Bride subhead)
  • "Bad ends" (with exception for canonical death/catastrophe, and one fandom as exception, noted under the Bluebeard's Bride subhead, where in fact I do not want a happy ending)
  • Major character death (with exception for canonical death/catastrophe, and one fandom as exception, noted under the Bluebeard's Bride subhead)
  • Second-person POV
  • Sexuality/gender angst; homophobia; etc (characters should be at peace with their identities and any conflict or strife should not be on the basis of these things)
  • Jealousy or infidelity as a major part of the emotional landscape
  • Hatesex (with exceptions noted)
  • Incest
  • Underage NSFW
  • A/B/O dynamics
  • Most bodily fluids (no watersports/scat; menses; vomit; etc)
  • Lalafell WOLs (for FFXIV)
  • Male WOLs (for FFXIV)
  • Male Byleth (for FE:3H)
  • Male Valentine Games
Likes:
  • Canon-compliant fic and canon-divergent AUs
  • Interiority (lots of focus on a character's thoughts and emotional landscape)
  • Explorations of complicated relationships and the ways they can grow and change over time
  • Found and chosen family
  • Characters torn between love and duty
  • Characters with a strong sense of loyalty
  • Reincarnation romance
  • Established relationships (feel free to skip the meet-cute and show me how these couples work in their day-to-day; canon covers that in most of my requests anyway)
  • Finding comfort in adversity
  • Angst (but with hope)
  • Intertextuality (reference some poetry or classical work and i'm THERE, babey!)
  • Polyamory

Smut likes:
  • F/F
  • M/F
  • M/F/M
  • Vanilla sex (100% okay! please don't feel you absolutely have to cater to the kinks I list here!)
  • Femdom (with a few exceptions I'll discuss for the relevant pairings)
  • Dirty talk
  • Orgasm denial / edging / ruined orgasm
  • Rope bondage
  • Impact play (spanking, flogging, caning)
  • Blindfolds
  • Praise kink
  • Semi-public sex (the thrill of maybe getting caught is especially crucial)
  • Clothed/semi-clothed sex
  • Guided masturbation
Art likes:
  • Whatever you've got to offer!
  • I am happy to receive art treats even for fandoms/prompts I did not request art of!

Original Work:

Some of these are my noms and some aren't; some were somebody else's noms last year but are mine this year. I think most of them are pretty self-explanatory. They tend toward fantasy settings, but that doesn't have to be a hard-and-fast rule! I love science fiction, and for some of them could easily see them in a modern/urban setting as well. It didn't make it into my requests this year, but I have also been a big Warhammer 40K fan, so science fiction that feels like medieval fantasy is also welcome here.
  • Enemy General/Princess of the Land they Conquer; Conqueror of a Kingdom/The Defeated Princess They Have to Marry
    • I would prefer a little tenderness here and the blossoming of genuine, if unlikely, feelings.
    • I'm also super into the idea of a very public consummation of that marriage.
  • Adventuring Spaceship Captain/Sentient Spaceship
    • Bioware were cowards and Ryder and SAM should have been able to embark on a romance. (Especially since Joker got to romance the Normandy! Come ON!)
    • I would love if they were connected by a neural net or something like that (or even a sort of psychic link, if that's more your speed). It lends itself to an unusual sort of intimacy.
    • Despite my chatter about Joker above, I would almost prefer if the ship didn't have a physical avatar.
  • Female Paladin/Incarnation of Her Goddess
    • I'm just saying, this seems ripe for some trans explorations and gender feelings.
  • Big City Woman/High School Sweetheart Who Got Bit By A Werewolf
    • I prefer that my werewolves have tails. That's my only big request here!

Final Fantasy XIV:

My WOL is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te named X'shasi. Her art reference is here. I've written any number of fics about her and her allies (including and especially Zenos), which can be found here.
For art I would obviously prefer if you would draw X'shasi, but for writing I am perfectly happy with a more generic WOL.
Just a couple of other notes:
  • Azem/Emet-Selch
    • If you'd like to know how I like my Azemet, my roleplay partner wrote this fic (~2k words) and basically defined how I like to ship them.
      • By the way, once you've read this ... do you ever think about how Hythlodaeus could absolutely have taken the seat of Emet-Selch, and Hades could have served as the Architect, and the sense of decorum that kept Hades from Azem wouldn't have been nearly as much of a factor?
    • Grapes Island is called "Cythera," in my headcanon, and also in that headcanon, Hades never went there until after Azem was gone. That seems incredibly sad to me. Azem doesn't have to be present in this fic for it to be about their relationship.
  • Azem/&Emet-Selch/&Hythlodaeus
    • See above--a lot of that headcanon is still good even for this trio/triad!
    • Hades refers to Azem and Hythlodaeus as "the grape-lover and their accomplice" in the French version of that Tales From ... story, and it just said so much to me about the begrudging affection he has for both of them.
    • There's a popular headcanon that the way Azem died was trying to save their friends during the Final Days (ultimately making them responsible for the creation of the Ascians). What if, tho.
  • Estinien/Gaius
    • This is honestly a PWP request.
    • I headcanon both of them as bi anyway (and kind of ship Gaius with Midas nan Garlond, up until Mid's death, as well as Esti with both Ysayle and Aymeric, so any of that stuff in the background is fine), but I don't think these two would get together under normal circumstances. Still, it's lonely out there hunting shadows, and men have needs that must be satisfied.
    • I have no particular preference on who does what to whom. They both just really need to come.
  • Haurchefant Greystone/Warrior of Light
    • I headcanon Haurchefant as a trans man, and would love to see him represented as such in your fic!
    • This really could range anywhere from fluffy to smutty to full-on-angsty, since canonical deaths are fine here.
      • Haurchefant's death and the memory of his loving presence is one of the things that really fuels my WOL's pursuit of the Dark Knight's path: "No matter how powerful you are, you cannot stop those you love from dying." Even if the WOL you write isn't a Dark Knight, what mark has that loss left on them?
      • What was it like for the WOL to show up unannounced at Camp Dragonhead, knowing they were wanted for regicide, and have a friend welcome them with open arms and a cup of cocoa?
      • Hey, remember that time Haurchefant canonically propositioned the WOL for pony play?
      • There's strong (pun intended) evidence in canon that he's super into muscle worship, too.
  • Regula van Hydrus & Warrior of Light
    • I headcanon Regula as blind in both mundane eyes, reliant on the spatial awareness of his third eye to navigate life and the battlefield (somewhat similar to Y'shtola's aethersight, I suppose). It's free real estate under that helm, but this is how I see him.
    • The fact that when the chips are down in the Warring Triad quests, Regula was willing to outstretch the hand of cooperation to the WOL has always felt very significant to me. So too the fact that he sacrificed himself for Unukulhai! I think that, were it not for the politics of the realm, the WOL and Regula could have been good friends, bonded by their sense of duty to the peoples who need them.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Hi, please write the FE3H fics I don't have time to. Hahaha.
  • F!Byleth/Jeritza
    • I just really love a big blonde man who gets horny about a swordfight. Zenos (see my FFXIV requests above) tickles the same spot in my brain. Jeritza is extremely, extremely, hornt for the idea that Byleth could kill him and is constantly asking her to fight. She bests him, and then conquers him. Femdom pretty much a must, bloodplay, knifeplay, etc, highly welcome. I have written one Bylitza fic (2.2k), and if you'd like to write the follow-up I teased, I would love you forever.
  • Edelgard/Hubert/Byleth
    • My preferred dynamic is that Edelgard tops both of them, Byleth switches, and Hubert is the devoted submissive to both of these incredible women.
    • I would love a scenario where Edelgard dictates to Byleth exactly how Hubert is to be fucked by her tonight, and Byleth gleefully carries out Edie's orders.
    • Outside the bedroom, I would just love to see these three navigating the world together, defeating Those Who Slither in the Dark, balancing duty with tender feelings best not shown before all and sundry.
  • Hubert & Mercie
    • This tumblr post.
    • That's it. They would be the most unlikely of best friends and I would eat it up. Jeritza/Emile can feature or not, as you choose.
  • Edelgard/Hubert
    • I would prefer them not to fuck on page, but rather something about, like, all the little ways that Hubert serves (and services) Edie in the day-to-day and just how fulfilling he finds that (sexually and otherwise). I have a particular love of things like hair washing--there's something very intimate about tending to another in the bath--so that could certainly feature.
Blaseball

We are all love Blaseball.
  • Mike Townsend/Tillman Henderson; Mike Townsend & Tillman Henderson
    • The buttmonkeys of their particular teams. I have this feeling like they would both struggle with impostor syndrome: do they really deserve to be where they are? Why keep playing the game when nobody wants them to, not even their teammates? I feel like they'd have a lot to commiserate about. And maybe smooch.
    • Tillman's absolutely That Guy but I feel like his That Guy-ness is covering for his insecurities, whereas Mike's preferred defense mechanism against insecurity is to make himself as unremarkable as possible and pretend that his isolation is a choice.
    • And then Mike is sent to the Shadows for Jaylen's sake! And then Tilly dies! And then Tilly's back? And Mike's back? And then the Crabs ascend without Tillman, almost as if it's deliberate! And then Mike! Is sent! To the Shadows! Again! Holy shit!
      • Yeah, so obviously my usual "no bad endings" DNW doesn't apply here.
    • Mike bakes and I think that's just so cute. Tilly's pregame ritual is "inventing secret handshakes" and I can picture him trying to rope Mike into this nonsense. There's also some shades of "intricate rituals" there, huh?
  • Oliver Notarobot & Pitching Machine
    • Are they robots? Are they people? Can they be both?
    • If the Pitching Machine counts as a person, are they a scab? (If the Pitching Machine is a person--ie, it's sentient--please don't use "it" pronouns; I would prefer "they.")
  • Valentine Games & Richardson Games
    • I headcanon the Games siblings as Puerto Rican, scouted to play Blaseball as their way off the island. They probably lived in NYC together (see also: Nuyorican). It's not that hard to go between Boston and New York after all. But Richardson's on the Shoe Thieves now, as is his husband Cornelius. And Val moves around a lot. A lot a lot. How do they keep in touch?
    • I'm really into the headcanon that Valentine is super into poetry.
    • Either or both of them may be trans (or not). I'd be happy with that, even if it's barely hinted at in passing.
Cordelia Movie Poster
  • Woman/Man
    • We all (read: Twitter) thought this was a period piece where the gentleman gets pegged because our eyes are broken and/or we had our horny goggles on. I would like them to remain firmly in place.
    • I don't particularly care if she's named Cordelia or not.
Bluebeard's Bride

I saw that one person actually offered this and I was so delighted! Was that you? I love you! Even if we didn't match, how cool!
I've never actually gotten to play Bluebeard's Bride, but I've long been interested by the interpretations of the Bluebeard tale. I really love the atmosphere of the sourcebook's writing, especially the Groundskeeper's section.
  • Artwise, I really do love the house style from the sourcebook. If you can pull off a look like old fairie tale illustrations or engravings, I really welcome you to try! If you can't, however, I would still absolutely love to see your interpretations.
  • Bluebeard/[any] Bride
    • I don't think you would offer this if you weren't comfortable with the darker aspects it obviously encompasses.
    • Bluebeard always wins, no matter what the outcome of the game is. Show me how.
  • Bluebeard/The Witch
    • Again, I expect this could be quite dark.
    • "Your sisters are not nearly as important as power." From that line, I always got the impression that it was the Witch who was most likely to stand up to Bluebeard in some way, to try to challenge his power with her own--or else to bolster her power by co-opting his.
    • If any aspect of the Bride could thrive in Bluebeard's castle, I suspect it's this one. What would that look like?
  • The Animus & The Fatale & The Mother & The Virgin & The Witch
    • "I contain multitudes," as Whitman said. When you're playing at the table, the players will negotiate, but what does that look like inside the Bride's head? What are they at odds over?
  • The Maiden & The Mother
    • These two seem to have a natural affinity, although that may not always mean a natural rapport. If we really do carry our parents inside of us, what effect does that have?
  • The Fatale/The Virgin
    • Bringing new meaning to "go fuck yourself," I guess. How does one seduce oneself? What is she trying to make her do? (Both shes, and both hers!) Can one use their own innocence to manipulate?
I'm sure I'll be delighted by whatever you create! Thank you for taking time out of this incredibly interesting year (as it has been so far) to make something for me.

Love,
starcunning
Dear Chocolatier,

FFXIV:

Generally for FFXIV, I would love stories that are quiet moments during MSQ or where the storyline's events provide background for what's going on. There will be spoilers for all MSQ and some job quest content in these prompts.
  • Aymeric/WOL: I ship Aymeric with my Legacy WOL, Odette. For art, her master reference is here. She has an identical twin sister, Colette, who is an astrologian and adventurer. Odette and Aymeric have been friends since childhood. She was a few years older than him, and they joined the Temple Knights together. In their mid-late teens, they got together as a couple, but Odette wasn't very serious about their relationship (or any relationship). Shortly after he was appointed Lord Commander, Odette and Colette left Ishgard because they felt called to intervene in Eorzea and started having dreams about crystals and calamities. Both emerged as Warriors of Light, and were lost (thought forgotten) after Carteneau, only to eventually re-emerge into public consciousness five years later. Aymeric is now "older" than Odette thanks to the time she lost after the Calamity. They rekindled their physical relationship during Heavensward, but she wasn't ready to commit (and was kind of fooling around with Fray Myste, whom she had to fight in his trial by combat and ultimately spared). After the events of Stormblood, especially her duel with Elidibus at the Ghimlyt Dark, they have grown close again and are making plans for marriage. I don't imagine BDSM as part of their dynamic, though I think Aymeric takes the lead in the bedroom and is a very gentle, doting lover.
  • Zenos/WOL: I ship Zenos with my miqo'te WOL, X'shasi. For art, her master reference is here. I wrote a long-form (~50k words) fic about the two of them and how they came to be in a relationship called This Beast That Rends Me. A short summary of its contents is available in the authors' notes of this fic, which will also give you some insight into their sexual dynamic: Shasi is his Domina, a strict and challenging presence in his life. She is very strident about when he is allowed to touch her and when she praises him--which he tolerates because it makes the times she does indulge him all the more precious. Shasi can be fierce; impact play is a big part of their play, and both of them have a blood kink. She loves to bite him, sometimes hard enough to draw blood. Zenos has endured periods of forced chastity, and while not especially turned on by pegging itself adores the feeling he gets of her claiming him when she does it. He loves her--perhaps it would hew closer to the bone to say he worships her; in his esteem for her Shasi finds hope that Zenos can learn to value and protect other people as well. Shasi is in a polyamorous relationship with other partners, but Zenos only has eyes for Shasi. In 5.x, Shasi will be bringing him to the First to do the Eden storyline, so something about the two of them vs. Inundation Leviathan could be really fun. X'shasi's main Job is Dark Knight, and it informs a lot of her decisions.
  • Haurchefant/WOL: I also ship Haurchefant with my miqo'te WOL, X'shasi. For art, her master reference is here. X'shasi and Haurchefant, in canon, had some mutually-unrequited pining going on involving co-sleeping and a lot of really casual intimacy. If you want to stick to the canon timeline, something during her time at Camp Dragonhead or living at the Fortemps manse in Ishgard would be appropriate. If you want to write something set after his canonical death, she often stops by his memorial to apprise him on her adventures, and he was very commonly the subject of discussion between her and her Dark Knight mentor, Fray Myste. The Ishgardian Restoration project has him on her mind again, because her grief over his death makes it hard for her to remain in Ishgard overlong, and she now can't stand the thought of moving to the city that she once wanted to make her home. Or, if you want to play around with an AU where they got together ... do you remember in Heavensturn 2014 when he propositions you for some ponyplay? Haurchefant is approximately one of two people in the world I can imagine topping X'shasi, so a scene where he introduces her to ponyplay, tacks her up, and grooms/cares for her would be nice. I think Haurchefant is a gentle but firm Dom, quick to praise when she succeeds and to guide if she falls short of the mark. I also headcanon Haurchefant as transgender--top surgery scars may be apparent, but I have no firm headcanons or preference about what's in his boxers, so to speak.
  • Emet-Selch/WOL: I ship Hades with my Garlean Legacy WOL, Caelina. For art, her master reference is here. I am/was writing a canon-divergent Shadowbringers fic about the pair of them, but it's not posted anywhere publicly yet. Caelina is the reincarnation of the 14th member of the Convocation. Her true name was Pherepapha, but I don't have her Convocation title chosen. Pherepapha was a hobbyist tinker and concerned mostly with cause and effect; when her dear friend Metis chose to summon Hydaelyn, Pherepapha protected the ritualists. Most of her incarnations (of varying races and genders) have been similarly mechanically inclined. They have largely been the foe of Hades' current guise, and in the few instances where they found peace (both were supposed to be on Nyunkrepf's ark during the Sixth Calamity, and would have gone on together to found red magic or build Sharlayan), they were thwarted by other Ascians who feared that Hades would lose his drive. Caelina is the daughter of two engineers who were working on Project Meteor until their defection toward Bojza. She was particularly close with Minfilia, and is good friends with Nero tol Scaeva, who knows more about Garlean culture than she does thanks to her refugee upbringing requiring her to hide her cultural traditions. Hades is theatrical in his courtship--Caelina's immediately previous incarnation was as Aquila jen Novius, whom Solus made his Empress and whose memory is enshrined in art all over Garlemald. Caelina is a far more practical person, but enjoys his attention, overwhelming though it is. I envision Hades as the Dominant in their occasional BDSM forays, which are focused largely on sensation play, forced nudity, orgasm denial and forced orgasm, and essentially psychic sensation through the use of his Ascian/Echo powers.

Labyrinth:

  • Jareth/Sarah: Ficwise some scenario where she returns to the Labyrinth later on (in college or as a young adult) would be neat and they get a second chance at things? I don't know; there was always something really thrilling about the implications of "I have reordered time, I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you!" Perhaps Sarah sees the generosity in this after all and makes wiser requests this time. Artwise, who doesn't love a masquerade, right?

Original Work:

I missed noms, so I bogarted all of these from their original posters. I hope they don't mind.

Most of these prompts obviously skew fantasy anyway, but I also like SF and magical realism stuff. I tend to mostly consume western SFF media, so am more familiar with and fonder of those tropes than anime, but I don't mind overmuch. A "magical girl" take is welcome so long as the "girl" in question is (let's say) high-school aged (and 18+ for anything with smut, please).

  • Wandering Lady Knight/Far-Away Princess she writes letters to: Epistolary fic! Oh my god! I would love to just read a collection of letters from this itinerant knight that are utterly laden with her longing. Perhaps the princess writes back or perhaps she doesn't; perhaps the princess is in difficulty at the castle and relies on these mementos to give her the strength to endure.
  • Queen who is the Last of Her Line/Male Consorts Vying to Father Heir: Normally I'm not really big on a "competitive submissives" scenario, but I think it would be appropriate here. Ideally the focus would be mostly on peacocking and impressing her vs tearing down other suitors. Happy polyamory is not just acceptable but a preferred outcome here.
  • Portal Fantasy Protagonist & Their Mentor In A Trade Useful In Both Worlds: My last (brief!) D&D campaign was actually a portal fantasy, so I was fond of this. My character was studying philosophy and wanted to go to law school, so she's perhaps not ideal for this, but our druid was a botanist and our artificer was a physics major (he chose to remain in the fantasy world at game's end to try and discover what the laws of reality were there). I'd love a bit of a focus on the adjustment to losing modern conveniences (everything from cell phones to running water), and my personal pet peeve with isekai-type protags is that they usually have very few misgivings about leaving their homeworld behind, so someone that has a reason to want to return to Earth would be a nice change.
  • Submissive Female Rape Victim/Her Dominant Lover Who Is Afraid Of Hurting Her: Obviously, reference to her rape and trauma is allowed here, overriding my more general DNW. I don't really want a lot of flashbacks or explicit on-page violence, and I expect her Dom to be loving and supportive during any moments of trepidation or hesitation on her part. This would probably be a guided masturbation type scenario, where he tells her how to touch herself etc, focused more on her pleasure than her servicing him.
  • small dominant woman/large submissive man: my BRAND! If you skipped my FFXIV prompts, one of my very favorite pairings is of this variety. I would love to see him in shibari or suspension, getting caned or pegged, or a tease-and-denial chastity scenario. It could be fun to leave him in his cage and have him fuck her with a strap-on. I can see muscle worship easily being part of this scenario.
  • Crown Princess Who Was A Starving Writer In Her Former Life/Faraway King Who's A Fan Of Her Books: How did she become the crown princess? Is her kingdom well known for its education? I'm assuming the king wants to marry her, but to reveal the root of his admiration in public would bring her shame, so he has to talk around it in formal scenarios. This could be an epistolary fic too.
